Stones Throw Release Jaylib Louder “Blast Your Radio Theme”

This unreleased Jaylib track has to get some attention, this short leftover from their Champion Sound sessions highlights the knack of each producer to take a classic Hip Hop breakbeat and transform it into something new as their own definition of “funky”. When you hear of music from the duo of Jay Dee & Madlib, you should expect something creative and original which represents classic elements of Hip Hop. Recently placed in The Mixx on DJ DN3’s Milk-bone show for Big Noise Radio.
“Louder (Blast Your Radio Theme)” is also featured on Madlib Medicine Show #11: Low Budget High Fi Music, now available from Stones Throw Records.
A 28-track hip-hop album of exclusive Madlib collabos w/ A.G., Guilty Simpson, MED, Oh No, Strong Arm Steady and others. Karriem Riggins pops in for a Supreme Team session, Madlib & Oh No debut The Professionals, and we hear a Jaylib-era track from their never-realized second album. Low Budget High Fi also contains several Loop Digga instrumentals and of course interludes, outerludes and probably quaaludes. From the Madlib Medicine Show #11: Low Budget High Fi Music here is a track from Madlib & J Dilla from their never-realized second album:

Jaylib was formed in 2002 as Madlib & Dilla recorded separately in Los Angeles and Detroit. Their one album, Champion Sound, was released in 2003. When J Dilla moved to Los Angeles, he, Madlib and J Rocc began doing shows together as Jaylib, performing together for the first time at the Madvillain record release party in April 2004. Madlib and Dilla collaborated primarily through the exchange of beat tapes, occasionally reworking each others material, or chopping the same beat in a kind of recorded call-and-response.
